CANYON COUNTRY, CA | 2015 GMC 1500 SierraAugust 29, 2025Linda the sales rep was awesome but the policies and charges are egregious. I brought my truck in because it had a noise in the engine compartment only unknown origin, Magic kept my vehicle for 4 days and could not locate the soilurce of the noise. I was charged $279 to not locate the source of the noise and was informed that they wanted to keep my vehicle for an additional3 hours at the cost of over $700 additional dollars to attempt to locate it. So to be clear...Magic wanted to charge me $900 to locate the source of the noise coming from my engine compartment which does not include the repair cost. Needless to say I declined authorizing the additional 3 hour request to avoid the $700 charge. I had to pick up my vehicle that still has the noise coming from the engine compartment, I have to live with it I guess. Thanks Magic.Response from Magic Cadillac
September 3, 2025It appears there was a misunderstanding in communication. Our policy has indeed changed, and we no longer charge customers for 'no problem found 'situations. It seems she may have been following an outdated practice, where it has been accustomed to charge customers for no work performed. This change also applies to the diagnosis of internal engine repair, which has traditionally been applied to the repairs required on a vehicle. We apologize for the inconvenience. It is not our policy to charge a customer for no work being performed. If you have been charged any fees, I will have Linda refund you your money; this is the right thing to do.Alvin R
